Buckingham Oak – Local Oak

An oak tree planted 150 years ago stands proud in the very heart of the shopping centre Midsummer Place in Oak Court, an area of Milton Keynes. Instead of being cut down to make way for the new shopping centre, the town planners decided that as one of only three mature oaks in the city centre that it should survive; consequently the shopping centre was built around it.
