Channel Islands Oak - Victor Hugo

The famous writer Victor Hugo, probably best known for his book Les Miserables, lived at Hauteville House on the southern side of St. Peters Port. His statue stands in Candie Gardens next to a mature oak tree he planted whilst he lived there as an exile from France.
