DEEP STRIP FOUNDATIONS

Deep strip foundations are the most common type of foundations used in conservatory construction and the cheapest to build when the ground conditions are suitable.

The width is dependent on the soil type but generally the minimum is 450mm. However, you may find that your builder specifies 600mm, this width is normally used when constructing two storey properties and may have something to do with the standard width of a trench-digging bucket being 600mm!

The concrete used in the conservatory foundations should have a minimum depth of 225mm.
