The Victorians first used Pinoleum blinds; the blinds are made from natural woods and reeds woven together in different combinations and they gently filter and diffuse the light and give an authentic look to period interiors.
They can be colour co-ordinated to the interior of your conservatory by painting them in a matching water-based emulsion paint and finished off with matching or contrasting fabric edging tapes.
They are not as efficient as modern solar fabric blinds, although some manufacturers now back the blinds with a reflective surface but with the loss of the lovely light that traditional pinoleum provides.
Pinoleum blinds can be used for roofs and widows, can be specified as roller or Roman blind finish and be operated manually or through an electrically operated system.
