With an increasing number of people working from home permanently, or for a few days each week, finding a suitable place to work without getting in the way of the rest of the family can be difficult. Often home offices are consigned to the smallest bedroom, or box room, but these can soon become claustrophobic and not always suitable if you have visitors.
Using a conservatory as a home office is a great solution. Usually set away from the rest of the house by double doors, it can avoid the disruption from noise elsewhere in the home. Properly designed it can become an multi-function space, an office during the day and a dining area or lounge at night. A large desk can become a dining table, files can be hidden away in cupboards and with wi-fi and laptops, big computers rarely get in the way nowadays, although you may have to find somewhere to hide printers or fax machines away.
Visitors can enter via the garden and not directly through the house. You can take a break during the day with a walk in the garden, or just take the phone outside to chat. We like to think that light, sun and space will help you be more creative and productive... in which case the investment in an office conservatory will soon pay for itself!
