Before the introduction of the new Permitted Development Rights, a conservatory built on a home in an AONB generally had to be smaller than one built elsewhere. However, there has been some relaxation in the size of outbuildings that can be built in an AONB and your council may have less rigid rules on the size of conservatory you can build than hitherto.
It is sensible to seek advice from a planning officer before building, always remembering that if the property has been extended before, this will impact on the size of conservatory you can build.
