Planning requirements for conservatories and similar structures

From the initial discussion our designer will be able to advise you about what may or may not be acceptable. They will then guide your design through the planning and approval processes. Depending on your situation planning issues may include:

• The original planning permissions that apply to your property or local area
• The proximity of your new structure to a road, footpath or alleyway
• The percentage of original land that will be covered by the new structure
• Its height and whether it has a ‘tiled roof’
• The volume of the new construction and its proximity to other garden buildings
• Its use – for example as an office for a business
