Timber Conservatory Construction

All Richmond Oak conservatories are designed for long term durability. We only use seasoned oak which is arguably the most durable material in hardwood conservatory production. Just as in quality furniture the timber is first air dried in the natural elements before being slow kiln dried to the correct moisture content. It is then laminated to give it extra strength and stability.

The timber is crafted by traditional carpenters. We use the strongest of jointing methods. Mortise and tenon joints are used for the window frames and doors, whereas the roof rafters are bird mouthed over the outer ring beam. All frames are further reinforced with joining beads to ensure that they are stable and level.

We use the latest gasket systems to ensure that the product is completely weatherproofed.
