The Fantastic Richmond Oak Team
Richmond Oak is a family-run business, based in East Sussex, with client projects throughout England. The Founder and Chief Designer, Paul FitzGerald, acquired the business in 2008 after working there for three years. Before his time at Richmond Oak, Paul spent nine years teaching architectural and engineering drawing, building and workshop practice and has owned conservatory, window and building companies since 1986. This means he has vast experience and huge technical skill and knowledge.
Marcus FitzGerald is Paul’s son and joined Richmond Oak as Operations Director in 2010. Marcus has over 12 years’ previous experience in the visitor attractions and events industry - where he worked as Senior Operations Manager for the Tussauds Group and Merlin Entertainments. He brings a wealth of global business experience to Richmond Oak and has helped implement its vision of an exceptional product, delivery and client service experience.
Paul and Marcus work alongside their friendly & experienced team at Richmond Oak, including Jackie, our Office Administrator; Dave, our Installations Manager who coordinates the dedicated and skilled installation team; and our creative and knowledgeable designers, Colin, Kevin, Paul, Andy & Nicola.
Together, we are passionate about what we do and care about why we do it, striving to provide an inspiring solution that accurately reflects our clients’ requirements. To create more space and light that ensures a greater sense of daily well-being and adds value to their home living environment, whether that be a place to enjoy with family, entertain friends or simply relax. From the design concept to a built reality of our beautiful bespoke hardwood conservatories, orangeries and garden rooms we are here to help and ensure clients have an enjoyable experience creating their new dream living space.

What Makes Us Stand Out?
Choosing an oak conservatory design and installer specialist can be a confusing process. However, we’re confident in our position as industry leaders and these six key features ensure we stand out amongst the competition.
1. Engineered Seasoned Oak
We use engineered seasoned oak which means our timber not only looks great but is also strong, sustainable and incredibly durable.
2. FSC Certified Oak
All of the oak we use is FSC Certified. This ensures our oak is sourced from sustainable, responsibly managed forests.
3. Internal Glazing Beads
Whilst most conservatory companies use external glazing beads, our glazing is secured through inaccessible internal glazing beads. As such, our clients benefit from improved security, protection from sunlight and a much more aesthetically pleasing finish.
4. High Spec Solar Control Glass
In order to ensure your conservatory is suitable for use all year round, we only recommend the highest quality glazing. This means using energy Efficient Glass providing heat deflection on a hot day and heat retention on a cold day.
5. Glazing Bars
Our unique 25mm astragal bar design creates an imitation glazing bar adhered to each side of the glass unit. This provides the aesthetic benefits of glazing bars without the expense and many issues associated with the traditional, very narrow designs.
6. Dual Colour Frames
Our innovative dual colour option allows you to select one colour for the external conservatory frame and a different colour internally. This means you can tailor your oak conservatory to your own tastes, whilst ensuring it complements the design and era of your home.
Our Planning Application Co-ordination Service
Another fantastic benefit of using Richmond Oak is our planning application coordination service. Our expertise will guide you through the rules and regulations, ensuring your conservatory adheres to each one. In the event that your conservatory does require planning permission, we can deal with the whole process for you, including submitting the application; often a tedious and confusing process for clients to do.
