Giles | Oak Orangery Kitchen Extension in East Sussex

"I can only just recommend you..."

"Can only just recommend you. I mean, you've been delightful to deal with. You've always come back with any queries we've had. And as I said, very experienced Workmen, so felt really comfortable. You know, everybody who's been here, who's been working on site, just amazing to watch their skills." Mrs Giles

The team at Richmond Oak Conservatories designed and built this beautiful oak orangery for our client, Mr & Mrs Giles, in East Sussex. The
purpose of this project was to replace thier small existing conservatory that was not useable for most of the year due to the old glass, making it too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. The space was also not practical in terms of design and size.

The new design has created a substantial open-plan living kitchen and dining environment. This stunning new space is bright and airy, with bi-fold doors that create a wonderful connection onto the patio area and frame the backdrop of the garden views when fully open. Truly bringing the outside in. The seasoned oak roof lantern provides a beautiful focal point to the room whilst the solar control glazing ensures the room can be used all year round no matter the weather.

This new oak orangery extension has completely transformed our client's home lifestyle... but don't take our word for it, make sure to watch this fabulous client review and hear what Mrs Giles has to say!

We are very proud to share with you this wonderful video testimonial.

Why did you want to create a new living space?

So it was partly my husband's, my husband had always looked at it and he had a much better eye for design than me. So he was the one who wanted it. And I was really very happy because he, we had a, a rather ordinary, rather old, bought with the house, conservatory as they were called in those days. And it had little squares on the windows and some of the glass we hadn't even realized had sort of gone.

So it just seemed ideal cause we live in a beautiful spot. So we thought it'd be nice to suddenly have access to more space and, not have to look through these glass, this windows and the other thing, actually, I, we didn't realise at the time, is that those windows being very old, I think they must have been forty or 50 years old.

These ones keep the heat out so we can actually now sit iin our lovely new living space where we couldn't in our old one.

What was your Richmond Oak experience like?

Well I think the best way of describing is we have hopefully everybody coming for a party on Friday. And apparently, normally when you have builders, you fall out somewhere along the line, but have been absolutely wonderful. It's been a very, we've had a wonderful design initially. And, we've been very happy with, and it looks exactly the same as they promised us and the workmanship has been second to none.

So delighted, really.

How has your new Orangery changed your home lifestyle?

Totally exhausted. Cause I want to entertain all the time. So previously I was very happy, not to be entertaining in my very small, old, conservatory. But now the weather's lovely and the conservatory, well, orangery is now lovely. So, I'm exhausted even people coming this evening. So just want to be partying really.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Can only just recommend you. I mean, you've been delightful to deal with. You've always come back with any queries we've had. And as I said, very experienced Workmen, so felt really comfortable. You know, everybody who's been here, who's been working on site, just amazing to watch their skills.
