The addition of this new seasoned oak frame living space was the final stage of a renovation project for our client in Widwell, a secret hamlet perched above Torcross, Devon.
The brief was to produce a design for a hardwood glazed extension that complimented both the style of their stone property and the stunning scenic backdrop.
The slate roof matched that of the existing building, with oak frames giving a warm ambiance internally whilst externally reflecting that of the countryside surroundings. Floor to ceiling glass ensured natural light flooded the room and provided panoramic views of the glorious Slapton coastline. Bi-fold doors opening up onto the decked balcony ensured the feeling of 'bringing the outside in'.
In 2008 this beautiful bespoke wood garden room received the Glassex Silver Award in the 'Innovative design category'.
