Timber versus uPVC Conservatories
Timber gives better insulation than either PVC or Aluminium and is more environmentally friendly. Wood uses a fraction of the energy required in producing non natural alternatives. Harvesting wood through replanting forestry actually helps the environment as new trees produces oxygen and reduces carbon in the environment. Increasingly consumers and government bodies are seeking environmentally favourable alternatives in the products that they buy.
Most people are unaware that these is actually considerably more forestry today than a 100 years ago. Some countries including Poland, the UK and Sweden have been particularly diligent in replanting forestry over the centuries. Unfortunately, the destruction of the rain forests and parts of Africa and Indonesia by in-discriminate logging has cast a show over professional managed forestry which performs a good service to the environment.
