Thinking of adding an extension to your living space?

Spring Trends for your home
With Spring on the horizon, there are lots of stylish new spring time trends for the home. Our favourite of which being Oak Orangeries. Orangeries have been increasing in popularity throughout 2017 and the interest is predicted to continue into 2018.
Some have speculated that the increase in popularity is down to people wanting authentic looking home extensions that seamlessly blend in with the exterior of their house.
These wonderful home extensions feature stunning roof lanterns and have windows in the surrounding walls. The resulting effect is a beautifully bright yet cosy living space.
What makes an orangery different from a conservatory?
They differ from conservatories in that they are built as an extension of the existing living space, defined by a perimeter flat roof area usually surrounding a glazed roof lantern and tend to have sides defined by corners of that have decorative timber posts or masonry pillars with glazed framing and doors between. Conservatories in contrast are predominantly glass within a frame to both roof and sides.
Take a look one of our recent oak orangery projects
We recently designed and constructed a gorgeous, seasoned oak orangery for a lovely family in Sevenoaks, Kent. The project was to expand on their kitchen space. The orangery has a delightful Sadolin Light Oak finish on the outside frames with a refreshing Clear Oak finish on the interior frames. As you can see from the photos below, these colours compliment the new living space beautifully.
We included some charismatic 15mm antique leaded lights in the window and door frames. The lighting, paired with the Farrow & Ball painted interior walls and natural oak frames, create a warm ambience.
An oak framed orangery is a beautiful and elegant way to incorporate light and space as a major feature into any home.
